Victoria Falls Bridge Slide – Zip Line Over the Zambezi Gorge

The Victoria Falls Bridge Slide – also called the zip line or flying fox – sends you along a steel cable suspended 111 metres above the Zambezi River on the underside of the historic Victoria Falls Bridge. The slide covers a substantial distance across the gorge at high speed, delivering an unobstructed aerial view of the Batoka Gorge, the river below, and the spray of Victoria Falls rising in the background.

It is not a bungee jump. There is no freefall. The descent is controlled, smooth, and high-speed – making it accessible to visitors who want an adrenaline experience with a clear view and a predictable sensation. Both solo and tandem options are available.

What the Experience Involves

You are fitted with a full-body harness and helmet on the bridge platform. Your operator conducts a safety briefing, checks all equipment, and positions you at the launch point. The slide begins at the bridge and crosses the gorge along a tensioned steel cable, decelerating at the far end. Total airtime is approximately 30–60 seconds depending on conditions. The return is by foot across the bridge.
